Hi everyone. Aiden here with Etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at and be showing you how to install the Redarc Tow Pro Liberty Brake Controller on our 2018 Toyota Highlander. So this is going to be a proportional brake controller capable of towing a trailer or applying brakes on one to two axles. This is gonna be one of the most low profile systems out there because the only thing you see is this dial. You've got a manual override here that you can push the button in to apply the brakes or if you lightly touch the brakes in your Highlander, it'll lightly apply the brakes in your trailer and vice versa if you slam on them. more

Hello neighbors. It's Brad here at Etrailer, and today we're taking a look at installing the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Proportional Brake Controller on a 2019 Toyota Highlander. The Redarc is a awesome brake controller and the main reason why is gonna be the footprint. Most brake controllers, when you think of them, you probably have scars somewhere on your knees from hitting them as you get in because they mount down low and sometimes they can be in a nice position, but honestly it does get in the way when you're getting in and out. And over time, it's just one thing that's kind of in the way. If you can eliminate that, get a bigger foot, or a smaller footprint that looks nice in OEM but still have all the functions, why not And that's where this one comes into play. more

And we're going to be installing this in conjunction with the etrailer.com universal brake controller install kit. When it comes to the Highlander, these are really capable SUV's. I see people using these to do a lot of different things all the time. And matter of fact, we get quite a few of them in here in etrailer, and people are using them to pull some relatively large trailers actually. Hi there, Toyota owners, today on your 2018 Toyota Highlander we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install Redarc's tow pro elite brake controller. Some pre-existing wiring is going to be necessary. Your vehicle does need to have a prep package installed for brake controller. This is not a factory prep package this is something you'd have to do yourself. We sell these here at Etrailer, we're using Tekansha's custom fit harness and this gives you a fully functioning seven way at the back, and it also provides you with a connector that's routed inside that has all the wiring that's necessary to operate a brake controller. What we can do is we can go ahead and adjust our power. We can do this with the gain settings on the left-hand and right-hand side of the controller. Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2018 Toyota Highlander- Video
Hi there Toyota owners, today in your 2018, Toyota Highlander, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install, Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Brake Controller. To assist us with that installation, we'll also be using ETBC7, which is a kit that contains all the necessary components we need to have a 7-pole connector at the back of our vehicle. This is what our prodigy P3 looks like when it's installed. What's nice about this brake controller, is that it's a proportional brake controller, which means it has an internal inertia sensor that detects the movement of the vehicle. So it can appropriately apply the output to your trailer brakes to match the vehicle. So if you're stopping on the brakes real hard, this detects that sudden jolt in stopping motion with the inertia sensor and it will apply the trailer brakes hard.If you are just easing on the brakes, this will detect it and it will apply lower voltage back there to ease on the brakes to make it match your vehicle. more

Curt Echo Mobile Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2019 Toyota Highlander- Video
Today on our 2019 Toyota Highlander, we're gonna be installing the Curt Echo Mobile Trailer Brake Controller. To help us get this installed, we're also gonna be using a universal installation kit for trailer brake controllers. This trailer brake controller is gonna plug in line between your 7-Pole connector and your trailer. What's great about this is you won't have any bulky devices mounted inside your vehicle and there's also less wiring involved to get this installed since it simply plugs in. You don't have to tap into your brake switches inside the vehicle.You can control the brake controller by simply downloading Curt's app and pairing it via Bluetooth. You can see here where we'll manually apply the brakes, that it applies it here on our brake controller tester. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2010 Toyota Highlander we're going to be taking a look and showing you how to install the Tekonsha Primus IQ trailer brake controller, part number TK90160. To help us with our installation we're going to be using the universal installation kit for brake controllers, part number ETBC7. Here's what our brake controller looks like fully installed. We chose to mount ours here on the kick panel right underneath our dash. Now this is a proportional brake controller, and what that means is it's going to activate our trailer brakes based on thee deceleration of our vehicle. To use our installation, we'll be using the etrailer ETBC7 kit, part number ETBC7. Here's what our brake controller looks like installed. As you can see, this is a nice compact unit. What this will allow us to do will be control electric trailer brakes on up to 3 axles on our trailer, allowing us to have a smoother and safer stop.Now what's great about this brake controller compared to others, this is a proportional unit. It's not time delayed so we don't have to worry about waiting for the brakes to activate on our trailer. more

Today on our 2015 Toyota Highlander, we're going to take a look at and show you how to install the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 proportional trailer brake controller. This works great for one up to four axles. The part number is 90885. To help us complete the installation, we're also going to be using the electronic brake controller installation kit, part number ETBC7. Now the P2's an excellent solution for providing braking power to your trailer while you're traveling. This is a proportional brake controller, so unlike the time delayed systems we don't have to wait on a preset ramp mode. We don't have to wait for it to engage. more

We're also going to be installing the universal install kit for trailer brake controllers, part number ETBC7. We can manually run up our brake controller. You'll see the level start to climb up. We're going to have a separate boost control. If you look at the trailer picture that's on the boost, as you go up to boost 1, it's going to show a larger trailer. It's going to help you figure out what boost level you want to set it to. more

Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2014 Toyota Highlander- Video
Today on our 2014 Toyota Highlander, we're going to be installing the Teconsha Voyager Trailer Brake Controller, part number 39510. Some other parts that we'll also be using today during our installation is the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controllers, part number ETBC7, as well as dielectric grease, part number 11755. Now, without your trailer connected to your vehicle, the brake controller will not have any lights on. When you plug your trailer on, you'll notice that the light comes on. Now, you will need to set your brake controller for your individual trailer following the manufacturer's instructions. Now, we'll go ahead and begin our install. We're going to begin here at the rear of the vehicle. This vehicle already has a four-flat wiring installed but we're going to need to remove the factory bracket. more

Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2013 Toyota Highlander TK90160- Video
Today on our 2013 Toyota Highlander, well be installing the Tekonsha Primus IQ Trailer Brake Control, part number TK90160. Note this vehicle is already equip with an ETBC7 Brake Controller Install Kit so well just need to hardwire in our brake controller, mount it, and were ready to go. Well first start with mounting our brake controller. Well take the brake controller bracket and the hardware provided and attach it here to the kick panel. Then we can take our four-pole plug provided with the brake controller and the red wire coming off our four-pole plug that will get attached to the brake switch signal. For this application the brake switch signal will be the blue wire coming from the brake switch. more

Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2013 Toyota Highlander 90195- Video
Today on our 2013 Toyota Highlander we'll be installing the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 brake controller, part number 90195. We'll also be using the ETBC7 brake control install kit, part number ETBC7. The first step of our install will be taking the previously installed four pole connector at the back of the vehicle and routing it outside. To do this we'll need to open up the rear cargo door to gain access to the four pole. Then we'll remove the drivers side lower storage compartment and necessary panels to access it. This will allow us to reroute the four pole connector outside the grommet you can see here. more

Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2010 Toyota Highlander 90195- Video
Today in this 2010 Toyota Highlander, were going to install the Tekonsha P3 Brake Controller, part number 90195. To install this brake installer, well also be using the ETBC7 kit and a tow-ready universal mounting bracket, part number 18136. First Im going to install my seven-pole bracket that comes in my kit with the universal mounting bracket. Next, well go ahead and put our bracket on the hitch. Once I have my bracket attached, Ill just use a pair of tune snips to cut off the access from the band. Now weve got our simple bracket and universal mounting bracket attached to the hitch, well go ahead and install our seven pole connector. more
